Spectators took it lying down at the 1961 sports day at Oswestry Orthopaedic Hospital – they were hospital patients still in their beds, who were wheeled out to watch the fun. This picture was taken by teenage student nurse Miss Dorothy Franklin who arrived at the hospital from Rushden, Northamptonshire, that year. She became Mrs Dorothy Roberts, living in Wellington.
