Give her a cheer! Bridgnorth woman crowned Cheerleading Champion in USA - with video
A young woman from Bridgnorth has been crowned this year's Cheerleading Champion after competing in America.
Victoria Bailey, 20, has won the world's Cheerleading Championship title, after participating in the world championships in Orlando, Florida.
This is the second time Victoria has competed in the championships so far and it seems that sporting success runs in the family, as Victoria's younger sister Chloe, 16, also competed for the first time this year, coming eighth in her event.
Tracey Bailey, the girls' mum said: "We are all so proud, what's better than competing for your own country.
"The girls got involved in a cheerleading group called Cheerforce Ten and then later got involved with the England team. We watched the championships on the TV, the whole family watched it and by the end we were all crying. They all looked stunning."
Both girls have received sponsorship from local businesses, including at Whitburn Coffee Shop and Sal's Ironing Service, providing some much needed support and backing to help them on their way.
Tracey added: "The support we received through sponsors has been absolutely fantastic, I think it's great to see local business supporting young people and we are really grateful that the girls were given the opportunity to go and compete."
The unique sport is becoming increasingly popular within the UK with events and competitions being held across the country.
Both Victoria and Chloe started getting involved with cheerleading at CheerForce Ten, a club which was launched in September 2011 and is based in Ketley, Telford.
The group has just over 250 memeber and growing. The group have been competing successfully all over the country and is one of the largest of its kind in England. The club also boasts some of the best cheerleading, dance and tumbling facilities in the country.
