People are being given the chance to adopt one of the town's 'Catch Me Who Can' trains in the hopes that they can keep them looking pristine and report any damage.

Organisers said they want people to be their eyes and ears across the trail.

Councillor Julia Buckley, chairwoman of the art trail, said: "It's a chance for local residents to feel part of the project.

"We really need eyes and ears to make sure that any damage is reported promptly.

"We also need the occasional wipe over with a cloth, especially for those statues situated under trees, and that get a regular covering of leaves and seeds when it rains."

So far a couple have adopted the Filtermist Steams Ahead train on Fox Corner, but all 11 other trains are up for grabs.

Anybody interested in getting involved in the scheme is welcome.

Councillor Buckley said she was thrilled with the response that the trains have received since appearing.

So far, more than 2,500 maps have been handed out to those exploring the Bridgnorth Sculpture Trail, with visitors travelling from far and wide to catch a glimpse of the colourful locomotives.

The trail was officially launched on July 28. It will be in the town for the next two years.
