Man hit by car in Bridgnorth town centre

A man had to be taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Bridgnorth town centre.

The man, in his 60s, was walking at the Listley Street juction with High Street, when he was hit by the red Honda Jazz. It happened at about 7.20pm on Saturday.

He was rushed to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, where he was given treatment for shoulder and head injuries. An air ambulance was sent to help him.

The Honda Jazz was slightly damaged and the road had to be closed while emergency services dealt with the crash.

Police are looking for anybody with information to come forward.
