Disabled Bridgnorth pensioner accuses council of stealing her parking space outside her home

A disabled Bridgnorth pensioner has said Shropshire Council has taken her parking space by erecting bollards outside her home.

Sammy Higgins, 69, has lived in her home in Cartway, off the town's High Street, since she bought the terraced property in December 2020.

She said having a parking space outside her home was one of the reasons she purchased the property three years ago, but on Tuesday, Sammy says council contractors came to Cartway and installed bollards outside the homes and businesses on the street.

"I thought they were repairing the little bricks that have got broken and cracked over time," she said.

The bollards put up in Cartway by Shropshire Council

"But two men from the Highways Agency were putting in posts that were concreted and cemented in place.
