The outgoing mayor of Much Wenlock, Daniel Thomas, has been voted to represent the division on Shropshire Council

Councillor Dan Thomas was voted to represent Much Wenlock at last week's local elections, taking over from David Turner.

The outgoing mayor of the town, who was voted in as the youngest person to hold the position in the town's history, will now represent the area at a county level, as well as continue his role on the town council.

Councillor Thomas' division for Shropshire Council also includes Broseley Wood, Barrow, Willey, Easthope, Brockton, Shipton and Stanton, while he will also be speaking for residents of Bourton and Homer on the town authority.

"Thank you for electing me as your Shropshire Councillor for the Much Wenlock Division and to Much Wenlock Town Council," he said.

"Well done to Imogen Fawcett and Mike Atherton who fought a strong campaign.

"Whether you voted for me or for another candidate, or didn't vote at all, I am here to represent you."
