Woman, 75, dies and two children and man injured in Much Wenlock crash
A 75-year-old woman has died after a crash in Much Wenlock in which three other people were injured.
Two air ambulances were called out and the road was closed for several hours after the two-vehicle smash on the on the A458 Bridgnorth Road at around 2.15pm on Sunday.
The woman, who was driving a blue Honda Jazz, died at the scene. A man and two boys travelling a brown Skoda Octavia were treated for injuries believed to be minor.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident and sent three ambulances, two paramedic officers, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find two cars that had been involved in a collision and four patients in total.
“The driver of the first car had suffered serious injuries in the incident and she received advanced life support at the scene. Despite the best efforts of ambulance staff, it unfortunately became clear that nothing more could be done to save her and she was confirmed deceased.
“A man and two boys who were the driver of and passengers in the second car, were treated for injuries believed to be minor before being taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by land ambulances.”
Police have appealed for witness to come forward.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "Did you see a collision in Much Wenlock yesterday afternoon?
"A woman died after the incident, which happened around 2pm on the A458 Bridgnorth Road.
"A blue Honda Jazz was travelling into Much Wenlock when it collided head on with a brown Skoda Octavia.
"The driver of the Honda, a 75-year-old woman from Salisbury, sadly died from her injuries.
"The driver of the Skoda and two passengers sustained non-life changing injuries and were taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
"Anyone who saw the incident or captured it on dash cam is asked to please get in touch.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “At 2.21pm on Sunday, July 10, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a road traffic collision had taken place in Much Wenlock. Four casualties being treated by paramedics. Fire crews used small gear and first aid kits. Two fire appliances were mobilised from Telford and Wellington.”
