Owen Paterson MP thanks Oswestry hospital staff with Downing Street tour
Members of a hospital team which cared for MP Owen Paterson after he broke his back had a special tour around 10 Downing Street to thank them for his treatment.
Mr Paterson arranged for the staff members at the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry to visit Number 10 on Friday.
It comes after the North Shropshire MP broke three vertebrae in a riding accident in January, then spent four months out of work.
He spent three weeks in hospital after the accident.
Mr Paterson said: "I organised it for them, it was a very very small gesture considering what they did for me.
"I'm eternally grateful for their incredible care when I was in hospital and it's just a small thanks.
"I hope they all had a really good day, they are an absolute world-class institution."
