Police are appealing for information after a series of burglaries last weekend.

The first one happened between 9pm on Saturday, July 8 and 7am on Sunday, July 9, at a house in Rowan Road in the town.

Police said burglars prised the key safe from the wall, removed the key and entered the property via the side door, stealing items while the victim was sleeping.

The second incident took place between 2.30am and 3.30am on Sunday, July 9, at nearby Grove Gardens.

Police said the victim was woken up by their dog barking and discovered a person inside their property.

They said the offender made off when confronted by the victim and property was stolen from within. The offender is described as a man, 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build, wearing dark clothes and gloves.
