Two mobile phone robberies in a week in Market Drayton

Thieves attacked two people and stole their mobile phones in Market Drayton.

A woman was walking alone down Shropshire Street at about 9.40pm on on January 14 when she was pushed from behind and had her phone taken.

The woman had grazes on her knees and arm. The phone was recovered shortly after.

On Monday a man was was in Shrewsbury Road at 4.30pm when he was hit on the back of the head. He had his mobile phone taken from his hand.

The thief is described as a white male, 5 foot 10 tall, wearing a black tracksuit top, black baseball cap and black bottoms with white stripes down the leg.

Police said investigations are in the early stages and it is too soon to say whether the robberies could be linked.
