Woman left with 'minor injuries' after car hits wall in Wem

A woman escaped serious injuries after a car crashed into a wall in Wem this afternoon.

The collision happened in Leek Street. Firefighters were called out at around 1.18pm and the West Midlands Ambulance Service was also sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a car that had crashed into a wall on Leek Street at 1pm. A paramedic officer attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was assessed and discharged at the scene with minor injuries."

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokeswoman said: "SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a road traffic collision had taken place in Wem involving one vehicle in collision with wall. Crews used small gear to make vehicle safe."

One fire engine was sent to the scene from the Wem fire station.
