Man, 60, taken to hospital after head-on crash near Whitchurch

A man was taken to hospital with spinal injuries following a two-car, head-on crash near Whitchurch.

Emergency services, including two fire crews from Wellington and Whitchurch, were called to the Tarporley roundabout on the A49 at about 7.10pm yesterday.

Officers are investigating after a silver Skoda Octavia estate travelling towards Whitchurch, and a yellow MG heading in the opposite direction, collided.

The driver of the MG, a 60-year-old man, was taken to hospital with spinal injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the silver Skoda, a man in his 40s, suffered minor injuries.

Police would like to speak with any witnesses to the incident or people who saw the vehicles and the manner in which they were being driven prior to the collision.
