A resident's group set up in Llys Lane in the town say they have been badgering the council to tend to the grass verges around the street and repair a broken fence that was hit by a truck five years ago.

Tony Powell, who lives on Llys Lane, said the only work conducted in the area by the council in recent times was to erect a safety barrier around a grass verge near to the local pillar box on Middleton Road.

Tony Powell of Llys Lane in Oswestry, has been fighting Shropshire Council for over five years to help sort the estate and road that he lives on

The low-level barrier is aimed at protecting vehicles from hitting the pillar box, but Mr Powell said it has resulted in the post box being taken out of commission by Royal Mail.
