Colleagues step up to help 'running firefighter' take on 10k race in full kit for charity
When Connor Beardmore stepped forward to take part in a 10k run, dressed in full firefighting kit, he knew his hugely supportive dad would be with him.
What he didn't expect was that many of his colleagues from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service would also step up and sign up to be by his side.
The crew member at Oswestry Fire Station says he is incredibly grateful and humbled by the huge support he has had since setting himself the challenge to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.
People can donate to his fund online at justgiving.com/page/the-running-firefighter.
On October 15 Connor, his father Tim and a team from the fire service will take part in the Oswestry 10k race, through the streets of the town and out into the countryside.
