Woman rescued from submerged car

A woman has had to be rescued from a partially submerged car in Oswestry.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said the incident happened in Maesbury Marsh just before 9am on Saturday.

SFRS said they sent two fire engines and the the Water Rescue Unit.

A spokesperson said the lady was winched free to safety: "One lady rescued from a partially submerged car which had entered floodwater."
