Driver 'flees scene' after hitting dog walker in Ellesmere crash

A man suffered ankle injuries when he was hit by a car in an alleged hit-and-run near his home.

The 61-year old was injured when he was hit by the vehicle on Brownlow Road in Ellesmere at about 11.20pm on Sunday .

He had been walking his dog when the collision occurred.

Members of the man's family say the impact threw him into the air and say the driver of the vehicle drove off.

They are appealing to anyone who say what happened or who may have CCTV to contact the police.

West Mercia Police officers are investigating the incident.
