Drat, and double drat!: Gobowen neighbours hold lockdown Wacky Races
Dick Dastardly and Penelope Pitstop could be seen doing ferocious battle in Gobowen as neighbours competed in their own lock down Wacky Races.
West Place residents have become known for their antics after already having a lock down Grand National and a country and western party in the street - all with social distancing.
In their latest escapade they designed car costumes to wear and did laps of the Gobowen playing fields before more racing around the green in West Place.
Participants and onlookers were left sniggering like Muttley as they whizzed round the block in the name of fun and charity. They were raising money for Hope House as part of the 2.6 Challenge. So far they've raised almost £500.
The neighbours have become close friends since lock down by taking part in various activities that often involve some dressing up.
Resident Rebecca Davies said: "We decided to do Wacky Races on Sunday, but with a new turn. We did it for the 2.6 Challenge for Hope House so we did six social distanced laps around Gobowen playing fields at 8am on Sunday morning, then on to Wacky Races around the green for our usual 11am.
"We doubled our target on the Just Giving page and now seem to have encouraged more of our neighbours to come dancing in the mornings."
