Fire and ambulance crews were called to Salop Design and Engineering Ltd in Brixton Way at 10.40am.

On arrival, crews found the man had injured his hand and had been helped by his colleagues.

He was treated by first aiders at the scene prior to the emergency services' arrival and, once he had been checked over by paramedics was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further assessment.

Salop Design and Engineering commercial director Chris Greenough said: "There was a minor accident, we called an ambulance – but the emergency service got mixed up with the detail and the fire brigade also attended. They were not required and left. The worker is OK."

"Both I and Salop Design take our health and safety responsibilities very seriously," he added.
