Woman rescued from River Severn in Shrewsbury

Firefighters rescued a woman from the River Severn in Shrewsbury.

Emergency services were called to Sydney Avenue in Castlefields at about 8.15pm last night.

Three fire crews including a water rescue unit were sent from Shrewsbury.

The woman was assisted from the river by swift water rescue technicians.

She was safe by 8.30pm.

It comes three weeks after a woman was rescued from the same stretch of river by firefighters in the early hours.
