Level Two distance learning courses are now available on the web with Shrewsbury Colleges Group for anyone over the age of 19.

Courses are short, usually taking between two and four months to complete, and have flexible start dates, so you can enrol at virtually any time in the year.

Personal Care Needs is one of the latest courses to be added to the subject list, which also includes a range courses focused around business management and health and social care.

Caroline Thornton, team leader for distance learning at Shrewsbury Colleges Group, said: “There is no requirement to attend college, so these courses can be taken by people living all across in England and over the border into Wales.

“You’ll gain a nationally recognised Level 2 Certificate and feedback is always provided to ensure you have the support you need to succeed. Reading materials and assessment paperwork are provided to enable you to study independently.

Flexibility

“There are no exams, just assessments and work is paper-based, so you don’t even need access to a computer. It’s a really flexible way of learning.”

Cheryl Sullivan, said: “I’ve completed three of the distance learning courses through SCG. You can fit the study easily around your home life and employment.

“All of the assessment dates are planned out and you are given plenty of time to do the work. I’ve gained confidence, skills and extra qualifications to add to my CV.”
