Members of Shrewsbury Recovery Taskforce issued the reminder for Salopians to remain vigilant.

Councillor Dean Carroll, Shropshire Council’s cabinet member for adult social care, public health and climate change, said: “We are all encouraged by the success of the vaccine roll-out, and infection numbers are reducing, but it is absolutely essential that people remain vigilant and keep following the rules.

“Although shops have remained open for essential purchases, people should not shop as a couple or family group unless they cannot avoid it.

“People should also continue to work from home if they possibly can, and maintain social distancing if they do have to visit their workplace.

“We are heading in the right direction but we all need to carry on working together to bring the infection rates down, so we can all start to look forward to a lifting of restrictions over the coming months.”
