The Beefy Boys are opening up at the old Zizzi's in the High Street. They specialise in burgers and American-style BBQ food.

Anthony Murphy, of The Beefy Boys, said: "We envisage about 30 jobs being created a mixture of full time and part-time positions."

The Hereford-based company have won a clutch of awards since launching in 2011, including Best Burger in 2014 at Grillstock - the UK's biggest BBQ competition. After winning at Grillstock, the team entered its Butty Bach burger into the World Championships in Las Vegas, finishing second.

They launched their first restaurant in Hereford in 2016 and the Shrewsbury venue will be their first Shropshire restaurant.

Zizzi in Shrewsbury officially closed last July after owners The Azzuri Group was taken over by investment firm TowerBrook Capital Partners, who chose to close a number of restaurants.
