Today is the last day to have your say on Shrewsbury's £87 million North West Relief Road before the consultation ends.

So far, more than 1,700 comments have been made on the planning application for the four-mile stretch of road, which would run from Churncote roundabout to Battlefield - most of them negative.

Transport and environmental campaigners believe there may be more than 3,000 comments altogether, and that a large number have not been uploaded to the planning portal to be viewed.

Better Transport Shrewsbury believe the proposal is outdated, and that it doesn't line up with climate change targets. However, some civic and business leaders believe the road will take traffic out of the town centre and benefit the surrounding towns and villages.
