Keith Robinson, Mark Underwood, Keith Simpson and Chris Kennett went on a long and mazy run around various green spaces in Shrewsbury, as well as Shrewsbury Town's home ground, Montgomery Waters Meadow.

The Dribblers for Dams, as they named themselves, were raising money and awareness for Christian Aid, more specifically to the plight of people in Kenya who have to walk for miles to get water.

Keith Robinson, who led the challenge, said: "We got very wet but it was worth it for the cause.

"The climate crisis is leaving people hungry, homeless and heartbroken. People are struggling to survive without a reliable source of water. From drought to flooding, climate chaos robs people of control over their lives. By providing a more reliable water supply we will be helping to kick Covid out of Kenya."

So far, the team has raised more than £3,500.

Keith, who used to work for the National Trust and now volunteers on the fair trade stall in Shrewsbury Market Hall, added: "With Covid, we keep being told to wash our hands. It makes it a bit more difficult if you have to walk miles for water, but that's the reality for some people."
