Fire crew scrambled to car fire in Shrewsbury

A car was "40 per cent destroyed" by fire in a blaze in Shrewsbury.

One engine was scrambled from the town's fire station to Trinity Street, at 10.37pm on Sunday (22).

A spokesman for Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service said they found: "One car 40 per cent destroyed by fire crews" and they "used a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire."

The danger was declared over at 11.40pm.
