Police confirm response to 'concern for welfare' incident town outskirts

Police have confirmed that officers attended an incident at a community shopping centre on the outskirts of Shrewsbury.

But West Mercia Police has neither confirmed nor denied that armed officers were involved in the response which involved 'no offences taking place' near the Co-op at Bicton Heath.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Police responded to a concern of welfare on Welshpool Road in Bicton Heath, Shrewsbury around 6.10pm yesterday . No offences took place."
