Villagers in Montford near Shrewsbury say they are taking their lives in their hands every time they turn off the A5 due to overtaking cars.

Residents say the junction to their village off the A5 is a "death trap" as the fading of painted lines on the road has resulted in overtaking cars doing 60mph, careering towards stopped cars waiting to turn right.

And they say a fatality is "inevitable" and have appealed for improvements to the junction.

National Highways has said it will be re-painting the markings next month and it will work with police to monitor the situation at the junction.
