Shropshire Council rules out compulsory purchase of homes for Shrewsbury relief road
Shropshire Council has said it will not be compulsorily purchasing homes or businesses when the Shrewsbury North West Relief Road (NWRR) is built.
The NWRR was given planning permission by the council in October.
The £80 million scheme, which would effectively complete the 'ring-road' around Shrewsbury, has proved controversial, with attempts at legal action as well as complaints about the felling of veteran trees.
