There were reports of a lot of smoke in the area of the bridge before the Emstrey Island.

Three fire engines were scrambled from Shrewsbury, Telford and Wellington with an operations officer at 3.23pm.

A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service said that the incident involved one van with mechanical failure resulting in coolant loss.

Crews used a thermal camera to deal with the incident before the crews sent their incident stop message at 3.54pm.

It was the second vehicle fire that emergency crews had attended during the day after responding to a car blaze near Nesscliffe earlier this morning.

The silver car was '100 per cent involved' in the blaze, which led to fluid spilling across the road.
