The Up the Steps Walk takes place in Bridgnorth and those who take part have to clamber up and down the various steps from High Town to Low Town.

Around 100 walkers took part in the event on October 13, where they climbed 800 steps.

The annual event is organised by the town Rotary Club, who say that this year they pulled in more than £10,000 for charity.

Elwyn Jones, secretary of the Rotary Club of Bridgnorth said: "The Rotary Club of Bridgnorth would like to thank the Bridgnorth Journal for articles before and after 'The Up the Steps Walk'.

"Thanks also to our walkers, marshals and supporters which kept the event safe and enjoyable for everyone on October 13.

"The event raised £10,128 for good causes which included a range of local and national charities."

He added that the Steps event will return again next October.

Anybody interest in entering should contact Elwyn via the Rotary Club of Bridgnorth website.
