The gardens are opening as part of the National Garden Scheme, which raises funds for charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, MS Society, Marie Curie and Hospice UK.

The garden at Lyndale House in Bridgnorth will be opening up to visitors on Sunday.

It is a large garden which has evolved over 20 years.

It features a terrace with roses, alliums and iris surrounded by box hedging.

Specimen trees are planted in large lawn and there are hundreds of tulips for spring colour.

A courtyard is planted with scented violas and there is a greenhouse full of streptocarpus.

Visitors can also explore Millichope Park in Craven Arms on Sunday.

There are historic landscape gardens covering 14 acres with lakes, cascades dating from the 18th century, woodland walks and wildflowers.

The Walled Garden at Millichope will be open, a restoration project bringing the walled gardens and 19th century glasshouses back to life.

Ruthall Manor in Bridgnorth will open up to visitors on Monday.

Offset by a mature collection of specimen trees, the garden is divided into intimate sections, carefully linked by winding paths.

The front lawn flanked by striking borders, extends to a gravel, art garden and ha-ha.

Clematis and roses scramble through a collection of wrought-iron work, pottery and seating. A horse pond features primulas, iris and bog plants.
