Casualty injured as crash closes A49 in Shropshire

One casualty had to be flown to hospital via air ambulance after a crash near Craven Arms which closed the A49.

The crash closed the road between Onibury and Craven Arms just after 4.30pm on Thursday.

Three fire crews, an air ambulance, land ambulance and the police were sent to the two-car crash on the A49 about two miles south of Craven Arms.

One person was released from a car by firefighters using cutters and spreaders and left in the care of the air ambulance.

The fire crews were sent from Craven Arms, Wellington and Church Stretton.
