Kirk Raine was given the runner-up Pride in the Job Supreme Award by television star Paddy McGuinness for his management of the Doseley Park development in Telford.

Kirk said site management was more than just a job, and judges said his drive and enthusiasm came through strongly at all stages of the competition.

Having won his way through three previous stages of the awards in 2018, Kirk was announced as the Supreme Award runner-up in the Large Builder category at a black-tie event at the Hilton Metropole, London.

Now in their 38th year, the awards are organised by NHBC, a warranty and insurance provider for new homes.

Steve Wood, chief executive of the company, said: "The site manager’s job is a very important one and undoubtedly one of the toughest and most challenging in the entire industry. Congratulations to Kirk, this accolade is thoroughly deserved.

“NHBC created ‘Pride in the Job’ almost 40 years ago with a clear vision of promoting and driving the very highest standards in new home building for the UK’s homeowners. Now, in 2019, this vision remains as strong as ever and is very much at the heart of the competition and at the centre of everything NHBC does."
