The woman was pushing the youngster in a pram along High Street in Hadley at about 6.20pm yesterday when a man punched her and grabbed at her handbag.

The bag wrapped around the pram and the pushchair was pulled over.

Although they suffered only minor injuries, both mother and child were left shaken by the robbery.

The man got away with the bag, which contained a mobile phone, keys and a small amount of cash.

Enquiries are ongoing, but police are keen to trace two men.

One is described as being between 25 and 30 years old, with short brown hair and wearing jeans and carrying a rucksack.

The second man had blonde hair, is aged between 25 and 30 years old and was wearing a blue jacket, denim jeans and white and grey shoes.

Officers will be in the area throughout the day to both offer reassurance and carrying out enquiries.

Telford Superintendent Paul Moxley, said: "This has clearly been very upsetting for both the woman and child, thankfully they have not suffered more serious physical injuries but they have understandably been left very shaken.

"Our enquiries are on-going and we have already spoken to a number of witnesses however, if anyone was in or around High Street in Hadley around the time of the incident and has not spoken to us we would urge them to get in contact.

"Likewise, if anyone has information about who the offender might be or any dashcam footage from the area, we want to hear from them."
