Woman taken to hospital after falling in water in Telford

A woman has been taken to hospital after falling into water.

The woman was spotted by a passing ambulance crew in Park Avenue, Woodside, Telford.

Paramedics, firefighters and police officers were sent shortly before 5am, but the person was out safely before crews arrived.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "At 4.49am on Wednesday, May 3, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as water rescue in Telford. Reports of person in the water, out before fire service attendance."

Two fire engines including the incident support unit and the water rescue unit were mobilised from Shrewsbury and Telford Central. An operations officer was in attendance.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “A passing by ambulance crew came across a person in the water nearby to Park Avenue, Telford at 3.28am. A further paramedic officer also attended the scene. One woman with non-life threatening injuries was conveyed to Princess Royal Hospital in Telford for further treatment.”
