'Smells like Heaven' as Shropshire's newest visitor attraction opens for first time
The county's newest – and probably most relaxing – visitor attraction has opened for the first time.
Shropshire Petal Fields, which offers the people the unique chance to walk through 30 acres of blooming flowers, will be open for 10 days.
Organiser Beth Heath, from Shropshire Festivals, said that around 1,000 people had visited on the first day on Friday – with around 10,000 expected over the event's ten-day run.
The fields, which have been planted by robot, belong to a farm based just outside Newport, which makes confetti.
The event had been scheduled to take place last year, but was cancelled after the dry spring hindered the growth of the flowers.
