Council acts to cut back 90-year-old Telford widow's overgrown hedge
A 90-year-old Telford woman has said “thank you” to council contractors after they turned up to cut down an overgrown hedge, after being told it could take months to sort.
Mrs Betty Calloway bought her home in Ludford Drive in Stirchley earlier this year.
It had previously been the home she shared with her late husband George before the pair moved to Wellington.
But her dreams of returning to her much-loved garden at the back of the bungalow has been blighted by a 15-feet overgrown hedge council owned hedge that runs along her property, which had begun damaging her fence and was blocking the light.
