Keeley Turner had pleaded not guilty to the common assault (assault by beating) on December 11, 2023, saying that she had assaulted the female student in the defence of her partner.

Telford Magistrates Court was told on Thursday that Turner's partner Kyle Hay had punched another, male student twice in the street after the family of two adults and three students had followed him off the number 5A bus at Wrekin Drive bus stop in Donnington.

Turner told the court that her partner had stroked a dog with two people on the bus. They had been involved in a row, which the male student had been watching.

Turner alleged that the male student had been taking pictures of her children and her partner on the bus to “shame” him. She alleged that they later appeared on Facebook.

The student told the court from behind a screen that he had not been taking photos.

Turner told the court that she sat behind the male student on the bus to make sure he did not take any more pictures.

But she denied that she had tried to take the phone off him.

At about 3.40pm the male student got off the bus where he was subjected to abuse, including being called a 'paedo' before Hay launched his assault.
