Car destroyed as fire crews tackle blaze in Telford

A car was left seriously damaged after a fire in the early hours of this morning (February 6).

A crew from Shropshire Fire and Rescue received a report of a car fire in Tweedale, Telford at around 1.55am. 

Firefighters used a hose reel jet, small gear and thermal imaging camera to tackle the flames.

A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue said: "At 01:55 on Thursday, 6 February, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Car Fire. 1 fire appliance was mobilised from Tweedale.

"This incident involved one private saloon car 50% destroyed by fire. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet, small gear and thermal imaging camera to extinguish."

The vehicle was left with 50 per cent damage following the incident, which concluded at approximately 3am.
