But the owner of Britain's last remaining teddy bear factory, Merrythought, which is based in Ironbridge, has also contributed to the film.

Sarah Holmes, aged 36, managing director of the company, made the bear which stars in the film, which is being released today(WED) at Leicester Square.

Sarah will be sporting a bespoke cape made from teddy bear fur alongside a giant 6ft bear on the red carpet.

Merrythought made the original Christopher Robin bear, and Fox Disney has made the really touching gesture to bring her along.

Last month it was revealed that the iconic Shropshire bears are among some of the classic toys being featured on a new set of stamps.

Royal Mail announced that the Merrythought Bear will be included in a new stamp issue featuring much-loved British toys from the last 100 years.

The teddy bears have been hand-crafted in Ironbridge, Shropshire since 1930.
