Student, 20, killed in Newport crash is named

A 20-year-old man who died after being hit by a car in Newport has been named.

George Crawford, who was a student at Harper Adams University, had travelled to Shropshire for his studies from Hawick in Scotland.

George was hit at the junction of Forton Road and Sunny Gardens at 4.10am on Sunday.

Paramedics took him to hospital, but he died later that morning.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the MERIT Trauma Doctor and critical care paramedic were sent to the scene.
