Pedestrian dies months after being hit by 4x4 in Newport

A pedestrian has died almost three months after he was hit by a 4x4.

Geoffrey Timmis, 82, died on October 16 after being hit by a car on July 25 in Field Aston Lane, Newport.

Mr Timmis, of Lilleshall, was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Stoke University Hospital after the crash where he had surgery in September before begin transferred to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford and then to Whitchurch Community Hospital where he died, an inquest into his death heard.

John Ellery, coroner for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, opened the inquest in Shirehall yesterday and adjourned it until January 29.
