Adam Cawley, manager of Woods the Cleaners in Market Place, says that both commercial and personal clients have grown in numbers during 2024 and that the town is thriving.

“The business has had an excellent year,” he said. “We have invested in new state of the art machinery to allow us to turnaround more work at a faster pace whilst maintaining the highest standard of cleaning

“We regularly undertake specialist work for other dry cleaners in Shropshire and our free collection and delivery service is growing too, with customers appreciating the convenience of the doorstep service.

“Many High Streets are still struggling to attract people back after the pandemic and cost of living crisis. However, the footfall in our town has benefited from the events put on by Love Shifnal and Shropshire Festivals.

“You can see new businesses opening up in Shifnal, making us a destination place to visit.  There is a strong sense of comradeship within the businesses and community groups in Shifnal and twice-yearly meetings hosted by Love Shifnal are helping develop this further.

“We are never complacent and are always adaptable to change - an excellent team with good customer service is key. Hopefully 2025 will see more growth and more investment.”
