Over the last month, crews have been busy resurfacing and reconstructing the roads, kerbs and footpaths along Hollies Road, Orleton Lane, Cranage Crescent and Steventon Road.

The work will continue over the coming weeks, and will include with the installation of new traffic calming measures. Next week, half term week, crews will also start work on Spring Hill.

Temporary road closures while the improvements are being done would be phased in the hopes that disruption can be kept to a minimum.

The council said feedback so far has been very positive.

Councillor Hilda Rhodes, Telford & Wrekin Council cabinet member for transport and roads, said: “It’s great to get such positive comments from residents as this scheme is a significant investment which is being done in response to concerns about the condition of roads and speeding traffic that they raised with their local councillor Graham Cook.

“For projects on this scale we expect there to be some disruption whilst the work is happening, so it is good to hear that our efforts to keep this to a minimum are working. We will continue to do all we can and just ask people to bear with us and to please let us know if they have an issue at any stage during the works.”

Work is due to be completed by mid-December.
