Mystery as Wellington post office branch is closed
The Wellington branch of the Post Office has been temporarily closed, with the company saying it is working to restore services.
The branch in Market Street closed on Tuesday, and no word has been given on why it closed or when it may reopen.
Shelia Tapster, a spokeswoman for The Post Office, said: "We sincerely apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Wellington post office.
“We understand and appreciate how much communities rely on our services. We would like to reassure customers that the decision to suspend services at any of our branches is never taken lightly. We take very seriously any decision to temporarily close a branch, and will only do so when it is warranted.
“We are working hard to restore services for the community as quickly as possible. The alternative branches in the area include Brooklands, Leegomery, Admaston and Hadley.”
The Post Office refused to comment on why the closure was put in place.
