Sons pay tribute to 'brilliant' landlady as pub prepares to take last orders
Two brothers have paid tribute to an adventurous mother and pub landlady, as they prepare to pull their final pints at the family inn.
Michael and Ed Young-Lidard are preparing to pull their final pints at the family pub after the passing of their mother, landlady, Suzanne Young.
Suzanne, landlady of The Duck at Allscott near Wellington, died suddenly on August 31, aged 69.
Now, her two sons are getting ready to say goodbye to their childhood home, first jobs and fond memories, as the pub prepares to give its final last orders on Saturday.
Suzanne, along with her partner, Ted Lidard, took over the pub in November 1983. The couple moved up from Gloucester after Suzanne stopped working as a chemical engineer.
Michael explained: "Mum was the first of seven, growing up on an estate in inner-city Gloucester.
"She passed her 11-plus and went to a grammar school. She was the only person on her old estate out of thousands of people who went to grammar school.
