The new No8 acts as the DS flaghship

The new DS No8 has officially launched in the UK with prices starting from £50,790.

Acting as an electric flagship for the DS range, the new No8 will be available in two trim levels, while there’s also the option of two- or four-wheel-drive and three power outputs.

Two battery capacities – 73.7kWh and 97.2kWh – come fitted to the entry-level car and Long Range versions respectively. DS claims that you should be able to get up to 341 miles from the smaller-battery No8, while those equipped with the larger battery can return up to 466 miles in front-wheel-drive variants. Four-wheel-drive versions see this range drop to 427 mils instead.

A maximum charge speed of 160kW means that the No8 can go from 20 to 80 per cent battery state in 27 minutes while adding the same amount of charge via a home 7.4kWh wallbox will take eight hours and 50 minutes.

An upgraded version of the DS Iris System is also equipped on the No8, allowing easy control of a variety of functions via speech recognition – though a 16-inch touchscreen is also fitted to all models. ChatGPT artificial intelligence technology is also included as a standard.

All versions of the No8 have plenty of standard equipment, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, heated seats, and dual-zone climate control. Higher-specification Etoile models benefit from a 360-degree parking camera, upgraded lights and a digital driver’s mirror, among other features.

A number of packs allow customers to tweak the level of equipment fitted to their cars, too, with the Tech Pack adding more features to the entry-level Pallas-trim cars – such as upgraded headlights and rear-traffic alert – while the Absolute Tech pack for Etoile includes night vision and folding door mirrors with integrated LED spotlights, among other features.

Prices start at £50,790 for a DS No8 in Pallas front-wheel-drive configuration, rising to £63,290 for a top-spec Etoile car with all-wheel-drive and the long-range battery.
