Letter: No case for HS2 project
Older, wiser people were trained to "live within your means". Unfortunately George Osborne obviously was not told this!

How can he possibly justify wasting a minimum of £80 billion of our money on HS2?
It will very probably cost taxpayers much more (HS1 cost 11 times the initial budget!) and this when we are already £1,377 billion in the red?
The Tories have ignored their first duty (to protect and look after the people who pay them) and have depleted our Armed Forces and the police to dangerous levels.
At the same time ambulance services, fire services, home care and libraries are being decimated! There is no case of need for HS2.
