Two collisions north of Shrewsbury

There were two crashes on roads to the north of Shrewsbury, though no one is believed to have been seriously hurt.

The first collision involved a van and a saloon car on the A5 at Montford Bridge, at about 3.45pm.

Police, ambulance and fire services were called but no one was found to be trapped. Ambulance crews assessed three people at the scene and firefighters made the vehicles safe.

At about 4.25pm there was then a crash on the Ellesmere Road to the north of Shrewsbury as one vehicle went into a garden wall.

Again police, ambulance and fire crews were called, but no one was trapped and two people were assessed at the scene.

Both incidents were dealt with within half an hour.
