Shropshire bus route to get new operator after complaints
A bus route between Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth has a new operator following a number of complaints about its current provider.
From Tuesday the 436 route will be run by Arriva.
The timetable will remain the same.
The service is currently operated by EasyCoach, under contract to Shropshire Council, and, according to a council spokesman, it has received a substantial number of complaints relating to the performance of this service.
Now, following communication with EasyCoach, Shropshire Council has been notified by EasyCoach that today will be the last day on which it operates the 436 service.
A spokesman for the council said: "Shropshire Council recognises the importance of this service to the passengers along the Shrewsbury to Bridgnorth corridor and has arranged for Arriva – the previous operator of this service – to provide the 436 Shrewsbury to Bridgnorth service with effect from Tuesday, and with no change to the current timetable."
